A Healing Blessing

A Healing Blessing for Avery, Layla, Andrew, Donovan, Dexter, Francesca, Catherine, Christopher, Zoe, Claire, Sauren, Malina, Andrey, Ryan, and all the NICU babies around the world (there are currently over 90 babies in the NICU at Fairfax Inova alone…)

May you be surrounded in comfort.
May you be filled with love.
May you feel the healing presence of those who hold you in their thoughts & prayers.
May these positive thoughts and blessings provide you with strength.
May you be sustained in health as you continue your healing journey.

May you relax.
May you be calm.
May you be serene.
May you rest as your body heals in your safe cocoon of comfort, love and strength.
May your body be transformed into one filled with love, happiness, joy and health.
May you continue to heal.

A card that Avery's nurse, Michelle, made of Avery holding her Daddy's finger this week. Her oxygen requirements decrease every time he touches her.

Moment by moment

Hour by hour

Day by day

Knowing that so many love you
and wait to welcome you.

May you feel loved.
May you be safe.
May you be protected.
May you be strong.
May you be healed.

I’m still praying for your family and sweet little Avery. I cannot identify with the depth of your loss, but can only imagine. I’m reminded of the footsteps in the sand. When it seems as though you’ve walked alone, God is always there, sometimes carrying you…….

Please continue with the blog, someday you will cherish these beautiful words.
There are so many people that love your family and can only be with you in loving spirit. We pray to ease your pain. Your words touch our hearts. God bless you all.

I just found your blog today- this is Zoe and Claire’s mom. Thank you so much for praying for our family; and know that we’ve been praying for yours. Know that when Zoe was Avery’s neighbor in room 203, we always said hi to her when we visited, and marveled at her progress. My husband and I have seen you off and on in the hospital these past couple of weeks, and we’ve seen the hurt on your faces- we’ve wanted to reach out to you, to embrace you, to cry with you and for you, but we feared we’d overwhelm you. Please know that we have not stopped thinking of your family; there are no strangers in the NICU.
